We aim to be highly cost-effective at using donor funds to prevent illness and avoid deaths from malaria.
We do this in three ways:
First, we have a clear focus on a specific intervention, anti-malaria bednets, and particularly long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs). Anti-malaria bednets reduce illness and prevent deaths. This means the potential impact on lives saved and health improved per dollar donated is high.
Second, we have an operating model that has proved highly effective: a lean organisational structure, significant leveraging of technology and a pro bono partnership and distribution partner model. This means our costs are exceptionally low.
Third, we place great emphasis on the preparation, carrying out and follow up of distributions to ensure the potential impact of distributing nets is realised. We report on this transparently and in detail.

Alcohol causes 108 million DALYs (4.3% of the Global Disease Burden) a year and 2.8 million deaths. The World Health Organization has identified alcohol taxation as one of the best-buys to reduce alcohol related harm. Our preliminary cost-effectiveness analysis also suggests our intervention has the potential to be highly cost-effective with less than $ 100 per DALY averted.
Although the magnitude of this problem and its solution is known, many countries do not have (modern/updated) taxation systems for alcohol in place. This is what CAPS aims to change.

We partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to develop and support REPLACE, an initiative to eliminate artificial trans fat from the global food supply by providing governments the tools to regulate trans fat and manufacturers the recipe to do so. Eliminating trans fat would prevent 250,000 deaths in people under the age of 70 each year

Family Empowerment Media (FEM) is an evidence-driven nonprofit that enables informed contraceptive decisions through clear, engaging, and accurate communication.
Enabling couples to access modern contraceptives may be one of the most cost-effective ways to avert maternal deaths and improve lives. Numerous studies show the positive effects radio-based social and behavioural change campaigns can have on empowering women and men to realise their contraceptive intentions.
